Noticed a rat in my garden and found that they were coming under the fence and likely living in the sheds next door and coming to eat the bird feed. I didn't want to stop feeding the birds and I have a young child so was worried about her playing where they had been so tried these traps. Set 4 of them last night with some peanut butter and chocolate spread...4 dead rats this morning!! I assume there are more where they came from so will set again. I also set them under a big plastic box that already had a hole in it small enough to stop any cats etc getting to the traps. Easy to set and obviously very effective!

The media could not be loaded. Bought these as I had a family of rats living under my shed. I already caught 2 using a rat cage before i bought these but they seemed to avoid it so I needed something else. I caught 3 rats within about 4 days with these which only left 2 rats left now. not only do they seem to be avoiding the traps now but I only have 2 working traps left as 1 just won't stay activated and the bit of plastic has snapped of another one so can't even activate that one. Not even had them 10 days yet and I'm down to half the traps what I bought. Good traps and do the job well when they work but they seem to be more of a disposable rat trap that are useless after a few goes.

Large sized snap trap rat traps. I am unsure what kind of rodent is in our shed but after setting up about ten mouse traps not a single one has been touched. Therefore I have now placed these which are much large in size so I hope to catch either a large mouse or rat. They are easy to setup so I put peanut butter into the bait space and set up the metal bar facing down ready for use. I have placed all four on edges but after three days no catch. I have left them there. £12.99 is a good price for large traps because one of the large bait stations cost me £15 and no rodent got trapped in it. I am hoping that within a week or so I will catch this nuisance.

These are large & strong traps with an effective kill-bar, when triggered. However, mine do not seem to always trigger. Over the last two nights I have had a few of these traps outside. From three traps baited and laid I did get three rats. HOWEVER, I had to rebait two of the traps a second time to get kills on them. Checking my CCTV, I saw that the rats removed the bait without triggering. It was their confidence it wouldn't go off that led to the revisit and susbsequent triggering of the traps. Last night, I baited two traps but didn't recheck until this morning. The bait had been taken but they had not triggered, again! Further testing will confirm what I think is happening, which is that the rats are very quick and deft in snatching away anything that may be poking out above the trigger pad. If the bait is whole then it will disappear in one go without triggering. Confidence will bring the rats back for a second visit but I would need to be checking for the first take before rebaiting in-situ. I will test this theory and update my review accordingly below this paragraph.

these traps have a very hair trigger very difficult to set , when weight of bait is attached peanut butter for instance can cause the trap to go off prematurily, so use with care or dont buy/use
