ROSHIELD 2 x Rat Traps - Professional Quality & Heavy Duty Pest Control Traps for Instant Kill - Large Reusable & Easy Set Rodent Solution
£9.99
- PROFESSIONAL QUALITY - Roshield rat traps are used within the pest control industry as a reliable and fast method of rat control and as an alternative to rodenticides and cages; our traps feature a high strength spring, sensitive trigger mechanism and welded kill bar, which will result in a quicker and more humane control solution.
- INSTANT PERFORMANCE - Our rat traps kill instantly. The heavy-duty and robust spring combined with the welded kill bar will humanly and quickly dispatch rats that feed within the kill area of the trap; the force of the mechanism guarantees maximum effectiveness, which results in a quick and humane control method.
- DESIGNED FOR RATS - Are traps are not universal; whilst they can work with mice they are made specifically for rat control and are larger than the smaller mouse alternatives. The larger trigger plate will react specifically to rats which for a better catch rate without false triggering.
- EASY TO USE - We include instructions for the use of the rat traps and we also have support videos for both setting and placement of the traps. Traps can easily be set by a responsible user and require no previous experience. In addition, our traps can be installed within Roshield rodent bait stations.
- RAT TRAP KIT SIZE - This listing is for 2 x Roshield rat traps and would be suitable for a low infestation area. Comprehensive instructions are included within the kit, and additional trapping support is available on request. Rat traps are reusable.

…at trapping younger rats, less so with full grown adults. I expect this is more to do with the size & height of the trigger plate & the bait pot, which is part of the base plate - essentially a larger rat can reach further with their mouths without needing to step on the trigger, so depending on the bait used, may be able to bypass the trap entirely. They’re clever buggers after all. That can’t always be said about other wildlife, as we’ve managed to also catch a field mouse (which I wonder if the Rats & put him up to it?!) & 2 birds. The instructions are clear but limited, it’s worth doing some research online before deploying traps in anger, but I can include the cliff notes here: 1) rats are afraid of new things, so deploy unbaited traps for a few days where they’ve been seen. 2) it’s helpful if you can identify roughly where they’re coming from to (in our case under our decking & making a bee line for a bird feeder) 3) remove the food source, while this won’t make traps more effective, it will make your area less attractive & they will move on. 4) to prevent bird kills, placing the trap inside a box laid on its side can provide some visual cover, although this is obviously also a new thing (see point 1). I also can’t say if it’s effective or not. 5) keep your pets indoors & away from rats, rat droppings, and the traps, obviously. Larger rats are more resilient to injury, and one of our traps has disappeared, possibly attached to its victim. Haven’t seen the adults for a day or two. In summary and to not waffle on too much, from what I’ve observed, while they don’t cause instant death, they do the job pretty quickly. I’ll Let you be the judge of that being humane or not. Hope this helps, I don’t like killing things, but sometimes Karma has to take a back seat.

After finding some droppings under the kitchen counter, decided to get these. Had these in place for about a month now with no nibbles of the peanut butter. The trap itself is easy enough to operate. Today I noticed an awful smell in the kitchen so had a look and found a rather large dead rat. The trap has only crushed it's nose but somehow that killed it, maybe it could no longer breath.

Product is constructed well however not big enough for larger rats. It maybe ok for mice or juvenile rats certainly not big or powerful enough for anything larger.

I've had these traps for almost a week using raw meat and peanut butter to test appetites. Each trap sets easily and creates a nice snap on impact. Having almost dismembered myself placing one trap*, I have worked out a system which keeps my fingers attached. *This was entirely my fault as I thought I was being clever. The trap went off as I was placing it and sent a shockwave through my thumb even though the blasted thing just leapt in the air spilling the peanut butter over the floor. Results are extremely disappointing. Night 1: both traps were deployed. One caught a single hair and was devoid of peanut butter. The other deployed and caught nothing with peanut butter still in place. Night 2: No action whatsoever Night 3: thought I'd up the ante with a bit of skirt, fresh from the butchers. First trap deployed, again catching one single whisker - meat gone. 2nd trap deployed. Meat gone, no rat but blood all over the place. I now have an injured rat gunning for revenge. Night 4: back to peanut butter. Trap 1, no action. Trap 2 deployed and peanut butter licked out. Night 5: Trap 1 untouched, Trap 2 deployed with no success. Trap 2 now broken and will not set. Ratty has had his revenge. I have now re-sited Trap 1 but I do not think it is big enough for these big northern rats. Alternative methods will be pursued.

These are easy to set up, could be very dangerous if left anywhere pets or children could access them. I used chocolate peanuts as bait. Only had them a day, not caught ratty yet.

Durch den Plastiküberzug entsteht nicht ausreichend Druck. Damit ist ein sofortiges töten nicht möglich. 2 Sterne weil die Falle sehr gut auf dem Boden steht.
