These traps were reasonably priced and easy to use. However, the bait and rat intelligence is thwarting my success. I’ve owned these for many months, but only caught three to live release 3 plus miles away…..apparently they will come back if nearer😳 Peanut butter of varying qualities did not work! In the end I ended up laying on a buffet style feast and still only caught 1 a few months apart. There is probably a skill, but my cat, foxes and a family of tawny owls are far more useful. If you get the baiting right, they would be better. IMPORTANT NOTE: the rats I did trap would have definitely bitten or attacked me if I worry not sensible in my handling the cage and their release. My advice for anyone is: 1. A thick pair of work gloves. 2. Place newspaper under trap if inside, because they will poo a lot, probably due to stress. 3. Have some kind of tool or implement you can hook the release bar up with when releasing the rodent. I would definitely not suggest using bare or gloved hands as it’s too close. 4. Rats definitely need taking 3plus miles away from the catch site if you don’t want them back! Smaller rodents are ok to just put out nearby in a safe suitable location. 5. When transporting rats away, put entire trap in a box or pet carrier- with newspaper- just in case the escape into car. You don’t want an angry agitated rat coming at you whilst driving! 😬 6. Be prepared to experiment with different types of bait food. Good luck!

Bought two of these to intercept rats crossing by garden to feast on food put out by neighbours for their chickens. I was sceptical that that the traps would catch anything because rays are highly intelligent and with a regular source of food I thought they wouldn’t be tempted. How wrong I was! I bated the traps with peanut butter which sticks to the metal food tray and placed the traps, one on my pond perimeter, and the other where I had observed rats following a regular pathway. In a little over two weeks I have caught 5-rats of various sizes, countless mice, one bird and to my surprise two hedgehogs. My wife didn’t want me to kill the rats so they were taken and released over a mile away across a river. I did put a blob of white paint on their backs so should they find their way back I would know if caught again. The mice, bird and hedgehogs have been released back into cover in my garden. Thoroughly recommend these traps.

With a camera and chocolate spread worked well. Easy to use if you read instructions. Possibly a bit flimsy if left for any time as it was throwing itself around quite vigorously, blue tooth camera alerted us it was caught so not left for long. Did give it a couple of nights open, not set but baited for it to get used to it. This worked well as we watched it going in but leaving one, then went back and set both and caught it. Soaked in sink of hot soapy water to clean.

These traps are great ….best mice catching traps I have used. We get the mice in from the fields every year , and have tried several traps ( all none lethal) since using these I had captured 2 mice a night , 6 in total now no more scampering of tiny feet in loft. Remember let the mice go at least 6 miles from home or they find there way home. Easy to set up, great value , I use peanut butter for bait, once captured I keep mice in container with food and water until I have captured them all / or at least a couple before releasing.

This product clames it is suitable for caching mice but its not 6 times I have filled this trap 6 times it has failed I have changed the baite I hopes that it will trigger but each time it failed I have used 1. Cruched up tortilla chip 2. Borbon 3. A heavy jammy dodger 4. Peanut butter 5. half a hotdogs 6. Chocolate coverd carrot at this point I'm nolonger catching the mice but feeding there family so in conclusion for mice do NOT buy
