I received these traps a few hours ago 13/7/24, not reading the details thoroughly I expected some bait to come with the traps. (my own fault). I set the traps last night after one going off and catching the side of my thumb (ouch that hurt). Then I managed to set both and put on my kitchen floor as the rats have come in under my cooker. I have no children or pets so not an issue out in the open. Not having any bait I sprinkled a little bird seed around the traps to entice them and also in the bait pot on the traps. This morning I woke up and discovered the traps had gone off in the night and caught the biggest rat. I know there is at least another rat so I shall be setting them again tonight. I highly recommend these traps, very strong and sturdy and gets the job done. Further update a few days later I caught a second smaller rat in the trap.

Great for the first rat but others seem to know how to get around the trigging paddle. The trap needs to be more concealed, too much metal showing and stands out too much. Rats will stretch their necks over the paddle to get the food. No point using this trap as the rats have figured it out

It worked within a night. I had a feeling I had some mice (please no rats although it was my initial guess when the dog started looking around erratically at various times and tried to dig up the sofa. I think i overfilled the bait trap as one of them dragged a bit of cheese off without setting off the trap, so I suspect there were two (one who dragged off some cheese and another who went for some after the first success). Poor lil second fella (absolutely nailed, blood on trap and on floor). I suspect the first successful candidate will be RIP when I get home from work. Easy to set, easy to place. Just don't touch the pressure plate after setting!

Ordered these from Amazon, picked them up last Wednesday & put them out in my garden straight away, placed them perpendicular to my fence as per the instructions, I used strawberry Starburst’s as my bait, it’s been only 6 days & I’m glad to say I’ve caught one big rat, there is another big rat out there but I’m pretty confident this trap should do the job, 10/10. Update - Wow!! I caught the 2nd rat the very NEXT DAY!! Amazing!! I’ll keep the traps outside for the next 2 weeks to see if there are anymore … Update 2 - It’s been over 10 days & I’m glad to say there are no more rats in my garden, they’ve all been caught, Bravo!!
