First I have to say that these wee units are plug and play - easy low to high settings and seem to be effective as far as we can see with no rodent or insect physical activity while we used them. But we still have some kind of continuing problem with some kind of rodent/squirrel in one particular part of our house where the smell of urine appears in only one room and continued during our use of the kit. They did warn us that the high frequency noise emissions do not penetrate walls so we suspect that our pest is in the walls or under our floor. Like one or two others, I could "hear" the emitters when set to highest setting but otherwise no noise at all.

Bought as a mouse deterrent after we had evidence of them in our under stair cupboard. The plugs are multi mode, with a basic setting for general pests like spiders and increasing settings for more effective deterrent of bigger pests. Very limited instructions with the actual plugs and I had to use the Amazon product page to actually work out how to change the settings as there was nothing on this within the product. I set 2 plugs up in different locations on the so called ‘rodent mode’ (setting 3). Almost instantly, my 3 children started complaining of the horrible high pitched noise which really upset them and they couldn’t stand to be near it. As an adult, I could not hear it, nor could my husband, but clearly the children’s ears are more sensitive and so we had to turn it off. We have kept it on setting 1 since but I’m not sure this will have the desired effect on our mouse problem unfortunately. If you are a household with children (& probably pets too as they usually have much more sensitive hearing than humans do) then I wouldn’t recommend purchasing these as a mouse repeller.

Was sceptical at first but desperate to solve a persistent rodent problem in the loft. Installed a couple of these on the loft and another two in places where I'd heard activity. Two days later and there was no sign of any rodents and no scratching etc. My dog has relaxed too as I'm guessing he can no longer hear them scurrying.

I really like these plugs. I've purchased a few over the years and I think these are the best so far. They do let of a noise but its not bad at all. My son has supersonic hearing so he tells me he can hear it lol. As for mice, we've never had them. We moved into a new property and there were signs that mice had been in the property previously, so we erred on caution. If they want to come in now they'll hopefully be deterred by the wire wool, the mint bags and the plug ins.
