This trap is a first class design that works. I know this because I bought an identical one last year and caught numerous rats. And I was delighted to see it was back on the market. However being made of mainly of wire mesh that one got badly damaged and so these things need to be handled and stored with care. Although slightly bent bits can be easily bent back into shape For the trap to work it needs around 15 cm/6in clearance above and at the ends for the arms to disengage. As delivered the wire end brackets are inside the cage and need to be removed through the holes. This is easier if the door is opened first and the brackets squeezed As with everything, once you've worked out how these things work its then a piece of cake. But this comes with no real instructions. The loops which slide down to keep the door closed need to be set back at the top for the door to close at all But it does work, once you've worked out how. Trust me I used both peanut butter and chocolate spread as bait So FIVE STARS because despite the lack of instructions and the essentially flimsy nature of a wire mesh construction* AT THIS PRICE this does actually work michael adams * Wheras for an extra ยฃ15 or ยฃ20 you might expect some sort of reinforcement

The item appears to be poorly made. The door is easily opened from the inside by a rat, after it has eaten the bait. The door does not close enough to keep the rat in. Waste of money.

Quick delivery. As a rat or mouse trap Iโ€™m sure it will work ok, but its design and/or manufacture is quite poor. The mechanism only works for one of the two end doors unless you bend one of the bars. Shouldnโ€™t really have to modify the product to get it to work. Other than that as long as I catch the rat Iโ€™ll be happy enough!
