These traps are highly effective,the bait is easy to load through a small capsule underneath the trap,do this before you set the trap! Just press the back of the trap with the palm of your hand until you hear it click,then hey presto! the trap is set,I used peanut butter or a nutty chocolate bar ,wear vinyl gloves when you do this,as it disguises human scent.I killed my first rat today using these traps,I have set all six around my shed.The good thing is you get six traps,and a pair of vinyl gloves!

I'm not plagued with rats, but I do have a mouse problem. These have helped sort it out. The traps are large, very large, though whether they're big enough to catch the large rats you sometimes get in urban areas is unclear. For mice they're almost overkill. The traps have a bait container which can be added - loaded - from below, which then sits within a hole in the 'trigger'. Any unsuspecting mouse stepping on the trigger is then dispatched instantly. The traps are easy to set, simply push down until the latch engages and then keep your fingers well out of the way. I can't stress this bit too much ... the traps shut very, very quickly and with a lot of force. This is exactly what you need to humanely kill mice, but it would also cause a nasty nip to a misplaced finger if you're not careful. I've deducted one star simply because of the size if used for mice. They're almost too large to fit in some of the narrow runs they frequent. For mice, I prefer the Big Cheese type (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Big-Cheese-AMZ148-Traps-4pack-multicolour/dp/B08Q4KT83Y/), but for rats then these SAIFO traps should be ideal. Recommended but MIND YOUR FINGERS!
