excellent product, very efficient. I suggest if using outside to fasten the trap to either a piece of wood or peg into the ground. I have had the traps removed with prey on it either by a rat or cat.

I've been using one of these for a while in a garden shed where I know Rats sometimes get in. It's easy enough to set up, but you want to be very careful with it because if you set if off accidentally and get a finger caught you will be in trouble!.. the spring is very fast and very strong. They are exactly like a standard mouse trap, but about twice the size and strength. So far mine has been triggered three times without actually catching anything, but the last time it was triggered I found a dead rat lying next to it. I can only assume the first two times the rat was too quick, but the final time I think it must have been hit on the head by the spring and the blow killed it despite not actually being caught in the trap. So it appears to work, but rats can be clever and often avoid being caught in any kind of trap.

The first night we baited them one of the two rats in utility room was caught and killed. Rats are bright and learn quickly. Been baiting them for a further week. Traps worked every night but rat managed to remove bait and then escape unscathed for a further week so we gave up on them. Now trying a differently designed model.

There seems to be a reason this trap design has stood the test of time. We had a single rat living behind our kitchen sink piping for over a month. Tried steel wool, expanding foam, sonics, sticky papers, humane hotels and the like for over a month with no results. It was determined to stay. Finally "gave in" and bought what I thought was an "outdated" concept only to be shocked at how quickly it worked. It arrived, packaging was easy to remove. Baited and set it under the sink. Walked up the stairs and heard the "Snap". I immediately thought I'd set it improperly and went to go reset it only to find that it had caught the rat! That was literally 5 minutes from delivery to done. AMAZING!!! UPDATE: In 1 week with this trap, it has caught 4 massive rats where other methods have done diddly-squat. Effective and easy to use.

Die Fallen haben starke Federn, aber die Auslöseplatte ist eigentlich noch zu schwergängig. Diese sollte man etwas mit Vaseline an der Rastklinke schmieren, dann klappts !!
